Delineation

Delineation is the initial process in the assessment phase.  Boundaries are designated to a specific watershed  in order to geographically define a public water system's supply and to set the stage for examining potential sources of contamination.  Each individual public water system is provided a computer-generated delineation map of their watershed, which includes the entire geographic area contributing to the water system's intake.
